Joplin, Missouri’s (surrounding areas) main attractions are:

Precious Moments Chapel (I have never been there but I here it is pretty nice).

I love Spring and I hate Spring.  I love it because the sun comes out which helps get rid of depression and increases motivation.  I hate it because motivation is spent swatting flies, running away from tornadoes and avoiding burning my bald head.
I got a little burnt on Saturday.  The sun was only out for half and hour.  People tell me it can be cloudy and one can get a sunburn.  Nope, it has never happened to me.  The sun[...]

What I like about America:

People smiling at you.

Strangers being nice, welcoming and generous in their hospitality.

Christian standard of living spread out a lot further than on most places in the earth.

Air conditioning (I like it even really cool in a store).

Patriotism (Not generally accepted in Germany because of the history, soccer being the only exception).

Cool, interesting sports (instead of boring old soccer).

Everything is cheaper there: gasoline, books, toys, cinema tickets,[...]

Introverts Make Better Bloggers
I have always been really bad in interviews.  I think it has to do with being introverted.  I am not shy to answer questions, the problem is I just can’t answer the question.  It has to do with slower than extroverted processing.  I can get my answer but most people don’t want to wait on me.  Blog posts are good ways for introverts to express themselves because we can take our time to draw out the answers.
Why[...]

Hold the show!  I am not doing another German Life Series until we are living in Germany which will be May 3rd, 2010.  The reason for this is I am going to make these posts hopefully a little more interesting by adding video examples to each one.  I will even go back and edit the first 3 posts.  I can’t wait to show you first hand how to open a window, shut a window, open a shade and so much[...]

After talking about opening the window and closing the window it would seem that Germans are just concerned with opening and closing things.  Well I am not going to do anything to help with that image because this week I am talking about opening the shade on the window.
When
In the morning.  Obviously after you have dressed.
Why
I really don’t know.  When I was told that I need to open my shade I asked why and was given this answer: Because.  I[...]

As long as we are missionaries we will travel.  For Amanda and I we will be traveling from the Midwest to Germany and back again.  I really don’t know if I have had a really bad experience at an airport.  I could say France but the main reason is because we had a long layover so I don’t know if that counts.
I need your help.  Could you let me and the rest of the world know what the worst airports[...]

Last week I talk about how Germans like their windows closed.  This week I am going to talk about how they like to open them.  So this begs the question, are they contradicting each other?  Not at all.
Why Do They Open Windows
When I was in Germany Amanda and I had to open our windows each morning to air out the house.
What I Do Know

Open windows to prevent mold on walls.

What I Don’t Know

What happens if it is raining for 5[...]

mentor |?men?tôr; -t?r|
noun
an experienced and trusted adviser
• an experienced person in a company, college, or school who trains and counsels new employees or students.
verb [ trans. ]
to advise or train (someone, esp. a younger colleague).
I can count on one hand the number of mentors I have had in my 31 years.  I have asked people to mentor me and some one didn’t and another did.  I have had mentors who I didn’t realize were mentoring me until after I had[...]

Germans don’t like the window open.  Supposedly the breeze that comes through the window will more than likely make them sick or worse but we won’t talk about that.
What I Think I Know

Close the window on a moving train.
Keep the window closed in your stationary home.

What I Don’t Know

If I need to keep my automobile window closed while driving.
How to close the window on my bike.

What Do You Know

Is there anything you can add about the do’s and[...]
