Happy Lent! Actually we are not that sure what it is all about. Something about fasting…right? I know that we are supposed to fast in secret but I really wanted to tell you what we have discovered so please don’t take it as bragging. We decided to abstain from television for a month. We are still able to watch TV but it has to be something with a Christian theme. I have to tell you that since we have not been watching regular TV our minds have been more peaceful. I am starting to notice that I would get upset at a lot of the opinions that fly across the tube. I would find myself focusing on whatever I watched and couldn’t believe the worldly uncommon sense I kept hearing. I don’t know about Amanda but I sometimes find myself wanting to watch TV, it is such a bad habit for me. Most of all I miss Hero’s! On to other news…

New LST Plans

We have new plans for our Let’s Start Talking Ministry in Germany. We are going not this summer but next. The reason is because we have been unable to raise enough support. The support that we have raised will go toward next summer’s project. We are viewing this as a good thing rather than a bad thing. This will give us more time to visit churches in order to try and raise support. LST and the Church in Peine, Germany have stressed their desire of us coming with a larger team than just the two of us. We agree with them that the ministry would be more productive this way. Because we started recruiting late people had already made commitments for this summer. We do have one individual that has expressed his desire to go with us next summer. Please pray that we are able to recruit him and others.

Good news! I (David) started a new job this past week. I am working at Great Expectation (Christian bookstore) here in Joplin. I am enjoying the job but also feeling overwhelmed with all of the new things to learn…please pray that I learn quickly.
